I hear women list thirty different things they want in a man
He needs to be emotionally intelligent, confident, generous, secure in himself, great with communication, spiritually aware, successful, self-regulated, attuned, funny, deep, grounded, ambitious, intentional, motivated…

And honestly, I get it. It all makes sense.
You’re not wrong for wanting a healthy man.
But after a decade of coaching, after seeing hundreds of relationships rise and fall, I can tell you this with complete certainty:
Only three things truly matter in the long run.
A good heart.
A man willing to look at himself.
And physical attraction.
That’s it.
A man with a good heart won’t always get it right, but he won’t intentionally hurt you. His natural instinct is kindness. He cares. He wants to do right. And that alone already puts him ahead of most.
A man who’s willing to look at himself is worth gold. He can hear you without becoming a victim. He can take accountability without shutting down. He can catch his patterns and actually do something about them. You don’t need perfection, there is no such man. You need willingness. That’s what creates long term growth.
And then there’s attraction. Not fireworks, butterflies, or obsession or the trauma bond spark. Just enough desire that you like being close to him. Enough pull that intimacy feels natural instead of forced. Without that, it becomes a friendship pretending to be a relationship.
These three things matter because everything else can be learned.
Communication can be taught.
Emotional regulation can be trained.
Confidence can grow.
Purpose unfolds naturally when a man is supported and grounded.
Presence deepens with maturity.
But you cannot teach a man to have a good heart.
You cannot convince a man to take responsibility if he doesn’t want to.
And you cannot fabricate attraction with mindset work.
Most relationships don’t fall apart because someone wasn’t spiritual enough or perfectly attuned.
They fall apart because the heart wasn’t kind, the ego wasn’t willing, or the chemistry was never there to begin with.
So if you find those three things in a man, you’re already 80-90 percent of the way there.
The rest is just the beautiful, messy, human part you get to figure out together.
