I asked my wife what made her feel safest in our relationship
She said it was knowing I wouldn't change my mind about something important just because she was having a bad day.

Most men hear that and think it sounds cold. It isn't. It's the opposite.
A woman doesn't feel safe when you're malleable. She feels safe when there's something solid underneath the care you give her. When your love for her doesn't mean you lose yourself in her moods.
The men who struggle most aren't the ones who stand their ground too much. They're the ones who never do. They shape-shift. They adjust. They read her face and recalibrate everything they were about to say or do.
She can feel it. That constant scanning. That low-grade anxiety dressed up as attentiveness.
And it makes her nervous.
Because if you can't hold your own centre when she's upset, how the hell are you going to hold anything when life actually gets hard?
