Most men don't need to be ‘more masculine’
They need permission to stop pretending they're fine.

A client told me last week his wife keeps asking him what's wrong. He says nothing. She knows it's a lie. He knows she knows. They both sit there in the wreckage of that dynamic and call it a relationship.
He's withholding because he doesn't know how to say "I feel like I'm failing" without hearing it become proof that he is.
So he leads from a place of performance instead of presence. He plans the holiday. He fixes the door. He makes the decisions. But she can feel the hollowness in it. She can feel him managing her instead of being with her.
Leadership starts when a man stops needing to look like he has it together and starts being honest about where he actually is. Just as truth.
My wife doesn't need me to be unshakeable. She needs me to be honest when I'm shaken and also now I’m okay. That's the difference between a man she can trust and a man she has to tiptoe around.
Most women don't want their man to have all the answers. They want to stop feeling like they're living with someone who's performing confidence while slowly disappearing.
Being the man inside a relationship isn't about always knowing what to do. It's about not pretending you do when you don't.
Because she's not looking for perfect. She's looking for real.
