The men you keep meeting are not the problem. Your filter is

A client told me last week she wants a man who is stable, present, emotionally available.

The men you keep meeting are not the problem. Your filter is: Jan-Willem van der Heiden, relationship coach

Then she described the last three men she dated. All of them had one thing in common. They made her feel like she had to earn their attention.

That is a pattern. And the pattern is not about the men. It is about what feels familiar to her.

Most women say they want a healthy committed man but their nervous system is wired for drama. Safety feels flat. Consistency feels boring. A man who shows up without games feels like something is missing. So they wait for the spark.

The spark is usually just anxiety dressed up as chemistry.

A healthy man does not make you wonder where you stand. He does not keep you guessing. He does not need to be convinced or chased or fixed. He knows what he wants and he moves toward it with clarity. If that sounds unexciting to you, the issue is not him.

You do not need to date better men. You need to become a woman who can receive a good man without sabotaging it. That means getting honest about why you keep choosing the ones who keep you spinning.

My wife and I did not work because I was perfect. We worked because when I showed up, she did not need me to complete it. She let me add to it.
