You already know if he's serious

Because of how much energy you're spending trying to figure out if he's serious.

You already know if he's serious: Jan-Willem van der Heiden, relationship coach

When a man is committed, you're not doing detective work. You're not interpreting his texts or explaining his behaviour to your friends or wondering if you're asking for too much by wanting basic consistency.

I watch women stay with men who are half in.

The men are actually honest about their limitations. They say things like "I'm not ready for anything serious right now" or "I don't know what I want." Then they keep showing up just enough to keep her around.

She hears the words. Then builds a relationship anyway. Hoping time or patience or being different from his ex will change the equation.

It won't.

A man who wants you doesn't make you guess. He doesn't leave space for doubt about where you stand. He closes the gap because the idea of losing you is worse than the discomfort of commitment.

When I met my now wife I said things very clearly: I’m looking for the mother of my children, I want to find out if that’s you, exclusively.

The hard part isn't finding a healthy man. It's walking away from the ones who feel good enough that you talk yourself into waiting.
