Here’s the moment that changed the whole direction of our relationship
My wife and I were about 1 month into dating, and we loved spending time together. We were having lunch at a cute little café.

I was enjoying the chicken pesto sandwich I always order. While I was eating, she said:
“You should chew slower, it’s better for you.”
I stopped, put my sandwich down and said:
“Thank you for telling me. And we’re never doing this again. It doesn’t matter whether chewing slower is better. What matters is that when you look at me, you’re thinking about something I should do better. If you look at me through critical glasses, you’ll always find something. Always. And those glasses will destroy any attraction you have for me.”
All women have this beautiful, innate kind of love. It’s nourishing and nurturing. It’s also mothering, and mothering your man leads to a relationship without sex, passion or life.
As her man, it’s my role to reflect this back to her, kindly and lovingly, and not let her mother me.
Now we’re 3+ years in, married, with a baby. We still feel passionate about each other, and our physical intimacy is exciting and frequent.
This moment is one of the main reasons why.
