Most people treat growth like something that happens to them
Like if they wait long enough in the right circumstances, they'll evolve.

Growth is a choice. Active. Uncomfortable. Repeated.
I chose it on a first date once by telling a woman I wasn't interested halfway through dinner. Not because she did anything wrong. Because I knew. And sitting there pretending for another hour was cowardice dressed as politeness.
She thanked me. Said most men would have finished the meal, texted later, maybe ghosted.
That's what we do when we avoid growth. We take the comfortable road and call it consideration.
A client told me last week she's been with her boyfriend for two years and still doesn't know if she wants to marry him. I asked if she's told him that. She said no. Too scary.
So she's choosing comfort over honesty. And calling it love.
Dating isn't about finding someone who makes you comfortable. It's about being uncomfortable enough to be real. To say what you actually think. To leave when your gut tells you to leave.
The growth isn't in the staying. It's in the choosing.
Every single time.
