I pay for everything in our relationship. I have from the start

And I don't care that my wife doesn't make money. But I care a lot about how she treats the money I make. That has always mattered to me. The attitude.

I pay for everything in our relationship. I have from the start: Jan-Willem's wife with their daughter

Early on, I told her I wanted to go to a warung instead of a nice restaurant because I was tight. She was just as happy. No performance, no disappointment she was hiding. Just genuinely fine with it. I noticed that.

Another time we went away for a weekend. I gave her a tight budget and instead of shrinking, she got excited about finding something great within it. She made it a challenge. I noticed that too.

But the one that really settled something in me was this. She had no income at the time. I knew she was probably anxious about money, going about her days without me there to cover things. So I offered her a monthly allowance. Something so she wouldn't have to think about it. She loved the idea. Was genuinely grateful.

I offered $2000 a month.

She said $1000 is more than enough. Thank you so much.

That's it. That was the moment. I felt it in my chest. I knew right then I could hand her access to everything and it would be safe. Not because she's incapable of wanting more. But because she wanted less than I was offering. She wasn't testing how much she could get. She was protecting what we had.

Most men are terrified to provide because they've been drained before. And a lot of them should be careful. But that fear doesn't come from nowhere. It comes from experience. The woman who respects what you earn is an incredible gift. I felt it that afternoon. I still feel it now.
